Damian Dickson also known as KurveKing is a West Indian contemporary artist born in Port Of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on August 15th 1992. Damian immigrated to the United States at the age of 10 in the summer of 2003. Showing an interest in the arts since young, Damian has used art as an outlet not only for self expression but to articulate new ideas as to what it means to not become a product of one's environment and being a young black artist in America without fitting the mold of what that is supposed to mean.

In his work he challenges the viewers to see creativity beyond one's own diaspora by metaphorically telling stories about what it means to be black but human at the same time. The work forces the viewer to see themselves in it, whether they can relate or not. The idea of not being so blatant in the work is for the sole purpose of bridging the gap between the artist and its enthusiast. In his work the artist often tries to broaden the conversation on what is "black art".
